Shadow Moon ( Ricky Whittle) and Technical Boy (Bruce Langley) arrive outside the facility and Technical Boy reveals he doesn’t have any of his skills available, thanks to what Bilquis did to him. They pause the music for a little Q&A, yet Bilquis is unfazed by their arrival in her cell, not even taking notice of their appearance. Her captors are unaware she’s escaped inside herself and is engaged in a conversation with the Orisha. you know, reasons? - Watch the first season, it really is a lot of fun and very stylish but skip this empty and lifeless filler-fest.Yetide Badaki and Ricky Whittle in ‘American Gods’ season 3 episode 5 (Photo Courtesy of Starz)īilquis ( Yetide Badaki) remains locked in a cell with loud heavy-metal music piped in as a form of torture on Starz’s American Gods season three episode five. I actually turned off when they had shirtless dancing cowboys performing a terrible cabaret act and Shadow Moon was shuffling around a shopping mall, for. it's like they just started making stuff up to fill in the time. There are long scenes where nothing of any consequence or even interest happen. My wife read the book and at around episode five she had no idea what the script writers were doing. It’s my personal preference in these types of shows, Politics and social justice: this season doubled down on that, if you’ve seen my season 1 review you know why I HATE this, it’s not because of the political views per say, but it’s the way they promote and share them, entertainment shouldn’t be about this, but it should be about actual entertainment and good story telling.

Things I dislike: Action: if you want a full explanation of why I hated the action in this show check out my season 1 review, short explanation, I prefer lots of action vs little in my opinion. Character development: the character development for me this season was heavily downgraded ti the point where I even hated some of the characters I likes in season 1, such as shadow moon for some reason, although I’m sure some people loved this, but for me, it’s a meh. If you want a somewhat full explanation on why I like it, check out my season 1 review of this show Things that are “meh”: The story: the story really hit low this season, the only real thing I loved about this season was the character progression of Laura moon and Mad Sweeney (which dies, and I truly hate the story writers for that for some reason, why? Because it was one of the best characters in this show in my opinion), and that was about it really, the rest kinda felt really boring for me with some political agenda, way more than season 1, season 1 was actually pretty good in my opinion in terms of the story, with this season? Meh. The concept: in my season 1 view, I explained why I loved this show, and for a quick and brief explanation of why I love it: I love it because of its uniqueness, story telling, and ancient Gods take.
